Line Marking Jandakot WA

We marked taxiway edge lines at a facility within the Jandakot Airport boundary. We applied 150mm line width — which is the standard for many aerodrome applications we'd done previously. The Jandakot Airport operator's compliance review flagged it: CASA Part 139 MOS specifies minimum line widths based on aerodrome reference code, and Jandakot's classification required 200mm minimum for taxiway edge markings in its category.

We ground off the 150mm lines and remarked at 200mm. The lesson was that CASA Part 139 MOS is not a single blanket specification — it has width, retroreflectivity, and colour requirements that vary by aerodrome reference code and the specific surface type. We now request the aerodrome's compliance manual and reference code before quoting any Jandakot airside surface.

Jandakot is Perth's general aviation hub — flight training, charter, corporate aviation, and the aviation support businesses clustered in the industrial estate adjacent to the airport. The industrial estate is separate from the airside surface but the airport boundary check we apply at Archerfield applies here too: facilities within or adjacent to the airport operating area may have elevated road marking specifications.
