Line Marking Balcatta WA

A Balcatta warehouse client provided us with a floor plan for quoting purposes. We scaled the area from the plan and quoted for 1,400 square metres. The plan had been reproduced at a non-standard scale — printed to A3 from an A1 original, not re-dimensioned to account for the print reduction. When we arrived to mark and walked the floor, it was immediately obvious the floor was larger than our estimate.

We measured on site: 1,850 square metres. We had prepared materials and scheduled crew for 1,400sqm. The first session completed the 1,400sqm we'd priced. We returned three days later with additional materials for the remaining 450sqm, completing the balance. The client paid the full area — but the two-session approach was inconvenient for them and more expensive in crew mobilisation for us.

On-site dimension verification is now mandatory on every Balcatta warehouse quote where a plan is provided but not independently verified. We take our own measurements on the assessment visit regardless of what any plan shows. A laser measure across the main floor dimensions takes three minutes and eliminates this kind of discrepancy entirely.

Balcatta is an established inner-north Perth industrial suburb — automotive trade, light manufacturing, and trade businesses on the Mitchell Freeway corridor. The older industrial stock means plans aren't always current or accurately scaled. Main Roads WA approved. We've been completing Balcatta industrial and commercial marking since 2009.
