We test concrete moisture content before specifying materials. Standard waterborne paint requires moisture content below 4% to bond properly. If testing shows higher moisture (common in basements), we use moisture-tolerant epoxy systems that can handle damp substrates. We learned this lesson the expensive way on a South Yarra project years ago.

Absolutely. Large multi-storey carparks are typically done level by level over multiple nights. We coordinate with your operations team to determine which levels can be closed when. Often we'll do basement levels first, then work up through the structure. You maintain parking capacity throughout the project with reduced numbers on the level being marked each night.

In covered parking with lower light levels, we recommend 600mm to 800mm letter height for level identification painted on walls, columns, and floors. This is significantly larger than outdoor carparks because visibility is reduced. Level numbers need to be readable from inside a moving vehicle without the driver slowing down. Colour contrast matters too.

Yes, glass bead application is standard on all our multi-storey work. We use 400 grams per square metre, which is at the higher end of the specification range. In lower light conditions of covered parking, retroreflective marking makes a significant difference. The glass beads catch vehicle headlights and make lines much more visible than non-reflective paint.
