ICC Pitch Dimensions
ICC Playing Conditions specify pitch length of 20.12m (22 yards) from stump to stump and width of 3.05m (10 feet). These dimensions are absolute requirements for all sanctioned cricket.
Popping Crease Specifications
ICC Laws require the popping crease to be marked 1.22m (4 feet) in front of and parallel to the bowling crease. It must extend minimum 1.83m (6 feet) either side of an imaginary line joining the centres of the middle stumps.
Bowling Crease Requirements
ICC Laws specify the bowling crease as the back edge of the crease marking at the stumps, 2.64m (8 feet 8 inches) in length, centred on the middle stump.
Return Crease Dimensions
ICC Laws require return creases at right angles to the popping crease, marking the lateral limits of the bowling crease. They extend from the popping crease to a minimum of 2.44m (8 feet) behind it.
Cricket Australia Ground Standards
Cricket Australia specifies additional requirements for sanctioned matches including boundary dimensions (minimum 59.43m straight, 54.86m square for international cricket) and playing area condition standards.
Practice Net Run-up Markings
Practice facilities require run-up guide markings and crease lines matching main pitch specifications. Multiple pitch nets need consistent marking for bowler development and training quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Extremely precise. The popping crease position affects every no-ball call. We mark within 3mm accuracy, which is tighter than most contractors achieve. For premier cricket and above, umpires carry tape measures and will reject non-compliant markings.
Yes, we mark both. Turf wickets require coordination with the curator for timing around pitch preparation. Synthetic pitches can be marked anytime but need appropriate paint that bonds to the artificial surface without damage.
On turf pitches, crease markings typically last one match day before the bowlers' footmarks affect them. On synthetic pitches, markings last the season with occasional touch-ups. We offer pre-match remarking services for finals and important fixtures.
We can do either. Most clubs want just the creases remarked regularly. Full pitch outline marking (the 3.05m wide rectangle) is typically done at season start or for televised matches where the pitch needs to be clearly visible to cameras.
Yes, we regularly mark cricket centres with multiple net pitches. Each pitch gets the same precision crease marking as a match pitch. Consistent marking across all nets ensures bowlers develop accurate approaches regardless of which net they're using.
Most grounds use rope boundaries that can be adjusted, but we can mark permanent boundary circles where preferred. For shared AFL/cricket ovals, we discuss how cricket boundary marking interacts with the football surface.
