Line Marking Gepps Cross SA

A transport company at Gepps Cross called us about their heavy vehicle depot. They'd been using standard paint on their external hardstand for years, repainting every 18 months. The paint tracked under B-double tyres every summer, and the turning circle at the entry gate wore bare within three months each time. Their operations coordinator was done with the cycle.

We assessed the depot: 3,200 square metres of external hardstand, moderate contamination from diesel spills near the bowser, internal workshop with cleaner concrete. External hardstand — Grade A thermoplastic rated for heavy vehicle traffic and 50-degree-plus pavement temperatures. Internal workshop — two-pack epoxy in the high-wear forklift zones. Completed over one weekend. That hardstand has now been through two Adelaide summers without a touch-up call.

Gepps Cross sits at the junction of the Main North Road and Port Wakefield Road corridors — Adelaide's northern freight gateway and one of South Australia's most active heavy vehicle precincts. Transport depots, logistics operators, building materials, automotive. Vehicles here are bigger and heavier than standard warehouse forklifts, which means markings need to be specified for that load.
