Quick answer: Line Marking Australia marked a newly leased warehouse in Gaythorne, in Brisbane’s inner north-west, in 2026 before it opened. The job covered a container loading zone, 278.8 m of yellow storage bay lines with lanes lettered A to K, 6 forklift operating-zone pictograms and 48.8 m of yellow walkway lines.

The brief

A warehouse manager in Gaythorne, in Brisbane's inner north-west, was getting a newly leased warehouse ready to open and asked us to come out, review the floor and work out the line marking it needed. We quoted from the site review and photos.

Surface preparation

Areas to be painted were cleaned by high-pressure rotary water blasting, and any old, flaking paint was removed by diamond grinding so the new markings would bond properly.

What we marked

  • Container loading zone: 46.8 m of yellow zone marking, 2 sets of 600 mm LOADING ZONE lettering and two chevron areas (13.5 m and 16.3 m)
  • Storage lanes: 278.8 m of yellow 100 mm bay lines and 300 mm lane lettering A to K
  • Forklifts: 6 forklift pictograms with 200 mm OPERATING ZONE lettering
  • Pedestrians: 48.8 m of yellow walkway edge lines and 3 walkway symbols
  • Traffic: 45.1 m of 100 mm edge line and 3 sets of 300 mm IN lettering

Why mark a warehouse before it opens

Marking an empty floor is faster and cheaper than working around racking, stock and forklifts later. Lettered lanes also make picking and put-away easier from day one: staff are told "lane F", not "the third row past the dock".
