Sports Court Marking with Competition-Grade Precision
Every millimetre matters on a sports court. Tennis baselines must be exactly 23.77 metres apart. Basketball keys need precise arc radii. Netball goal circles need an exact 4.9 metre radius. We've marked over 800 courts since 2009 for clubs, schools, councils, and private facilities. Laser-measured, correctly dimensioned, certified for competition.

What is Precision Matters on Every Sports Court?
Quick answer: Line Marking Australia marks tennis, basketball, netball and multi-sport courts to official dimensions, such as 23.77 m by 10.97 m for doubles tennis and 28 m by 15 m for basketball. We measure twice with lasers, mark chalk pilot lines for you to approve, then paint, so lines are accurate to the millimetre before anything is permanent.
We learned this the expensive way. Back in 2018, a tennis club in Moorabbin asked us to remark their championship court. We were 35mm out on one baseline. Doesn't sound like much, right? Wrong. The court failed club certification. We had to grind off everything and redo the entire court at our cost. Around $4,500 gone.
That expensive lesson taught us our current process: measure twice with lasers, mark pilot lines in chalk, get client approval, then commit to paint. We haven't had a measurement issue since.
Sports court marking isn't like carpark marking. Tolerances are millimetres, not centimetres. A tennis court is 23.77m x 10.97m for doubles, and 8.23m wide for singles. Basketball courts are 28m x 15m with precise arc radii. Netball requires 30.5m x 15.25m with specific circle dimensions. We use laser measurement and string lines to guarantee accuracy.
Multi-sport courts are our specialty. Overlaying tennis, basketball, and netball on one surface requires careful colour coordination so players can distinguish their lines during play. We've developed colour schemes that work for multi-sport use while meeting each sport's requirements.

Under the ITF rules, a doubles court is 23.77m x 10.97m and a singles court is 23.77m x 8.23m. Service boxes are 6.40m deep. Lines are 25 to 50mm wide, the centre service line is 50mm, and the baseline can be up to 100mm. We laser-measure every court to ensure exact compliance.
Yes, multi-sport courts are our specialty. We use colour-coded lines so players can distinguish their sport during play. Common combinations are tennis/basketball/netball. We design schemes where each sport's lines are clearly visible without confusion.
On quality acrylic surfaces with proper preparation, court markings typically last 5-8 years before needing refresh. High-use courts like public tennis facilities may need remarking every 3-5 years. Indoor courts last longer due to no UV exposure.
We specialise in line marking. For full court resurfacing, we partner with specialist surfacing contractors. We can coordinate both services or provide line marking after you've had resurfacing done by others.
Tennis typically uses white lines on green or blue surfaces. Basketball uses contrasting colours for keys and lines. Netball often uses red or orange. For multi-sport, we discuss options to ensure each sport is clearly distinguishable while maintaining good aesthetics.
Yes, we mark indoor courts on timber, synthetic, and concrete surfaces. Indoor courts require different paint systems than outdoor, particularly for timber floors where flexibility is important. We specify appropriate products for each surface type.
