Thermoplastic bonds well to the surface of raised floor tiles when they're in place — the issue is that tiles are regularly removed for cable management and maintenance, which would damage or remove the marking. Painted marking on individual tiles is preferred because it's applied at lower film thickness and maintains adhesion even through repeated tile removal and replacement cycles. Thermoplastic is reserved for the fixed concrete sections.

A 120mm step is significant for manual pallet trucks but typically manageable for powered forklifts with adequate ramp or transition plates. If forklifts regularly cross the transition zone, a ramped transition plate should be assessed rather than relying on marking alone to manage the hazard.
