Mechanical grinding is the only viable approach. For small patches (under 0.5 square metres each), hand grinding or angle grinder with diamond cup wheel is practical. For larger zones, a floor grinding machine is more efficient.

Yes. Solvent-based printing inks are petroleum-based and respond to alkaline degreasing — same protocol as standard oil contamination. UV-cured coatings don't respond to degreasing at all. In a Murarrie packaging facility with both contamination types, we assess and map each type separately, then apply the appropriate treatment to each zone. Treating solvent ink zones with grinding (UV treatment) wastes time; treating UV zones with degreasing (solvent ink treatment) fails to achieve adhesion.
