The adhesion issue we address is a surface chemistry effect, not a structural concern. Facilities in heavily salted road zones over many decades may warrant occasional chloride content testing of the concrete bulk, but this is a long-term maintenance consideration.

Entry matting and scraper mats at truck entry points capture some de-icing salt residue from tyres before it reaches the warehouse floor. Industrial rubber scraper mats with aggressive surface profiles are the most effective. They don't eliminate tracking but reduce the volume significantly. Wheel wash systems at the facility entry are the most effective solution for large vehicle operations where matting is impractical.
